Alex C.

Alex is a 22 year old from Dublin, Ireland. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Journalism and moved to New York in May to pursue a career as the local reporter in Hoboken, New Jersey.
Before moving to America, Alex was granted her second degree black belt in TaeKwonDo, having been part of Northstar TaeKwonDo Club since she was just six years old. While completing her degree, she worked as an instructor in the club, teaching children ages 6-12. Her favorite part of teaching is watching her students grow more confident and self assured as the weeks go on, and being able to exercise self control and perseverance. Alex has also played the trumpet for over 12 years, touring with the world renowned Artane Band all over Europe from a young age. Her time with the group equipped her with not only musical skill, but also taught her discipline, self motivation and the importance of working in a team. Alex has been babysitting since she was 16, but adopted a more full time child minding role two years ago, when she would mind three girls, ages 1, 3 and 7 on a 9-5 basis. She completed school and hobbies drop-offs and pick-ups, prepared meals for the children and did bath time and bedtime duties. She also has experience babysitting older children and boys, ages 9-12 and is willing to mind any and all age groups. Alex is energetic and loves meeting new people and learning new things, which is a large part of why she chose to be a journalist. In her spare time, Alex does Yoga, goes to the gym and volunteers as a dog walker at an animal shelter in Brooklyn.
