I have 5 years of experience of working with children as a soccer coach and history teacher. I have been coaching kids soccer since I was in high school myself because there is nothing that beats the joy of inspiring all people (not just kids but the youth need more guidance) to find the magic in life, and to develop greater pursuits and wisdom. More recently, I have been working with the youth in the capacity for teaching history.

From 2020 to 2022, I was a lead 6th grade history teacher at Success Academy Bronx 2 Middle School. Due to the challenges of Covid, I spent my first year teaching virtually in zoom school. As a zoom school teacher, I had to learn how to be very engaging and inspiring to children because I was competing with Roblox and SpongeBob for the childrens attention, leading me to even make my own historical tik tok accounts. When I lost the battle for the kids attention to SpongeBob, I had to make many phone calls to parents and schedule several intervention meetings. I learned the importance of constant communication with parents that was two-sided.

During my second year, I taught in person finally which brought its own unique challenges in terms of classroom management but allowed to form deep and meaningful relationship with my students. While I teared up on my last day of teaching, I left the middle school classroom because of my intellectual itch to research and publish history and political theory. I am following that itch right now as a first year graduate student at The New School in their Historical Studies department. While I cannot teach full-time anymore, it is very important to me that I remain an active presence in kids lives.
