Kids are neat. They challenge you to see the world in different ways. The sound of them playing makes me happy and being invited to play with them is even more fun. I’m used to having kids around – my family had a child born in every decade from the 1930s to the 2010s. That’s when my friends started having kids. I enjoyed surprising my first time mom friends with how good I was with their baby. Funny how people assume that because I don’t have children of my own, I don’t like them. These days, my partner and I book play dates with our friends kids – both because it gives their parents time off and because we have such a good time together. I work as a non-profit fundraising consultant and find I have time between gigs. Sitting sounds like a fun way of keeping me busy, doing something I love, and helping parents out.
