Write a messageHello Family!
My name is Raven and I have lived in New York my whole life. I have two sisters, one 22 and the other 13, who both live in Amsterdam. We are super close and people always comment on how we have an amazing relationship. Even with the distance we have created and maintained a strong connection.
I tutor my younger sister for an hour everyday right now to help her with her math homework. She had a tutor but my mom said I should step in. She always leaves excited, telling mom how easy it is to understand the concepts with my guidance.
My older sister of the two, is often mistaken for being my twin despite the age difference. They are very mature and wise and I could not be any more proud of who they have become. They just started art school and are having an amazing time there. They confide in me about their relationships and the annoying world they have to navigate being a young woman in this charged world. I do everything in my power to protect them.
My father started a non-profit mentoring program named after his father in 2009 called Solomon Mentors at Central Park East Middle School. The mentorship is founded on principles of helping young men from age 11 who come from difficult backgrounds find their security as well as there place in a difficult landscape. We have established retreats and field trips as well as tutoring sessions with these young men to foster close communities. He had to reallocate his focus towards his career around the time of CoVID but we still make ourselves available as a resource.
With this I hope to comfort you that I have the experience necessary to ensure your child’s safety; mentally, physically, and emotionally.
I have a strong understanding of boundaries as well as rules but also am super playful. I have been told many times by my peers that they can’t wait to see me be a father. I love kids and really do care deeply about forging a positive future for our world. So much so that I create an app called VATER with my college best friend, an app centered around motiVATING people to be physically active. I did not like the current social media platforms and the influence they play today, especially on kids. I felt like it detracted from human connection and created weird expectations of what success looks like; so I made my own. A social tool to facilitate human connection and inspire people to become more connected to themselves and others!
