Hello!

I’m Katie Foster and I have worked in childcare and youth work for over a decade! I graduated from West Chester University where I studied Youth Empowerment in an Urban Culture, as well as Women and Gender Studies! Throughout college, I worked as an after-school care teacher, and spent my summers as a camp counselor in Wilmington, Delaware! After graduating, I moved on to hold several roles where I specialized in creating communities in schools, resolved conflict, and empowered educators to use positive reinforcement and restorative practices. Some of my positions included being a Behavior Specialist, Restorative Community Coach, and School Experience Outreach Officer. Most recently, I went with best-selling author, Nathan Maynard (Hacking School Discipline) to speak at Georgia’s Southeast Conference on School Climate with his organization, Highfive. I spoke about how a sense of belonging and community positively impact youth outcomes. I truly believe that children are always communicating and expressing themselves through behavior and play. Our job is to help them navigate those big feelings, and have some fun!
