Hello, my name is Leah Bradstreet. I recently graduated from Colorado State University and have lived in Philadelphia my whole life. Working with children is one of the most rewarding experiences because children are energizing, creative, thoughtful, hilarious, and unique. When taking care of kids, I find myself becoming more of all those things.
I have about four years of paid experience in childcare, working both as an assistant teacher and as a camp counselor at overnight camps every summer with children ages 6 – 15. I bring a unique blend of training and experience in children’s health, safety, and fun, along with a background in various other areas that may interest children.
I graduated in May 2024 with a BS in Wildlife Conservation, which has given me a wide range of knowledge in STEM and the natural world. I have found that this knowledge is particularly engaging for elementary students. I enjoy teaching them about our natural world, especially in a city where nature can be scarce.
I am open to and willing to arrange occasional field trips in Philadelphia to places of cultural, scientific, or natural significance, such as the Academy of Natural Sciences, the Zoo, the Franklin Institute, and more.
