Little Critters believes every opportunity is a teaching moment for growing and developing children. These opportunities do not always present themselves in a way that are always acceptable or appropriate, however they shine as moments to teach children a more acceptable and appropriate option for any emotion they are experiencing.;Little Critters refrains from calling interventions discipline. Little Critters stresses respect for others and for property. As a result behaviors that are disrespectful to others or property will be addressed. Our policy is that children are given one warning and then removed from the situation for a time of reflection. At this time staff members will clearly state their expectations, how the childs behavior deviated from the expectation and the type of behavior that is expected. If this behavior continues the child may lose doing the particular activity causing the issue. Staff members will randomly state to children when they are engaged in good play or showing their respect and manners. This acknowledgment is positive reinforcement which has lasting impact on all the children. If behavioral issues continue to occur, Little Critters staff will involve parents input at that point.
