Why Daycare at “The Fun Spot”?
I watched each week as one mom would rush in on certain days and pick up her child saying, “Hurry up; we are going to be late to pick up your brother from daycare.” Other days, she would arrive with a little boy in tow. He would stand there with a big sad face and watch his brother play with the other after school kids until they finished their activity. I often wanted to let him join in the fun but knew if I did, he would never want to leave and that would only make things more difficult for mom. That made me start thinking about doing a full daycare program for younger children and one day I asked her if she would be interested in something like that? She said, “That would be wonderful, he can’t wait to start school and come here in the afternoon with his brother!”

Preschool ages 3-5 with an academic curriculum to get them ready for kindergarten…
The Fun Spot is happy to announce that we have just received our Daycare License from NYS Office of Children and Family Services. In September, we will be starting a new Full day Daycare / Pre-Kindergarten program to compliment our ever popular After School and Summer Camp Programs. The full Daycare Program will be for preschool ages 3-5 and it will be combined with an academic curriculum to get them ready for kindergarten. We will be using learning centers and small group activities to creatively introduce the basic skills of language, math, reading, writing and music to the children. We will combine this with a healthy amount of physical activity, to help develop coordination and round out their curriculum. Kaitlin Limmer, our director for the after school program, will be leaving her teaching position and join us full time to provide the academic curriculum for our new younger campers.

3 New State of the Art Daycare Classrooms…
Also in September we will break ground for an addition that will contain 3 new state of the art themed daycare classrooms for our 3 – 5 year olds. The addition will be connected to The Fun Spot building with access limited to people involved with the program. There will be an entrance in the back of the building to make drop off and pick-ups more convenient for parents.

Imagine for a minute…our classrooms will be the size of the area that children in other daycares would be confined to all day. But at Camp Fun Spot, children will be able to run and play on the skating floor and in our huge indoor playground. On nice days, they will be outside playing games in the yard and doing crafts in the outdoor tent pavilion. We will even find time to squeeze in The Fun Spot Attractions! And if that isn’t enough, we have our own Camp Fun Spot School Bus to take them on field trips.
