Our Center opened July 6, 1989, as a two-day-a-week program with 30 children ranging in age from 2 years to 5 years old. The KBC Weekday Early Education Center now operates three days a week September through May with an average enrollment of 160. Each classroom provides a lead teacher and assistant teacher with teacher to student ratios below that of state requirements.
It is the philosophy of our Weekday Early Education Center to facilitate growth in the areas of social, moral, cognitive, representational, and physical development. The environment is organized through learning centers which allow children to make choices based on their interests and needs. Activities are informative and fun. Preschoolers learn that life away from home can be secure and loving. Through interactions with others, children develop language skills, growing aware of themselves creatively. Our staff supports the day to day routine by individualizing the care of each child, resulting in a bond between the children and their care giver. Children are offered activities to challenge them in the areas of number readiness, science and nature, arts and crafts, dramatic play, fine and gross motor skills, language development, and safe, healthy living practices.
