Preschool in Kansas City, MO 64131
The Early Childhood Center (ECC) is a ministry of Red Bridge United Methodist Church. Our mission is to reach out to young families in the community with children ages 2 through 5. ECC is based upon principles which promote the development of each child’s God-given potential for spiritual, scholastic, physical, and social growth. The preschool strives to develop each child’s capabilities and self-esteem in a caring and supportive environment, with respect for the child’s dignity and individuality.
Choosing a preschool for your child is a very personal decision. It’s important to get all the facts about a school before you decide. We understand these concerns and we hope this site will help educate you about the Red Bridge United Methodist Early Childhood Center. We have put information about our facilities, programs, staff, and philosophies here so you can learn more about us.

Throughout the day children work in small groups, in individual settings and with the rest of the class in supervised activities. We feel your child will benefit from both the structured and non-structured learning.
A two-year-old’s preschool day at ECC consists of structured play times with age-appropriate learning experiences (beginning concepts of shapes, colors, counting and large motor development through games, stories and songs.) Our goal is to make each day a happy experience for these little ones. Parents of two-year-olds may elect to send their child one or two days per week.
The preschool and pre-kindergarten classes (for three- to five-year-olds) also stress socialization, with more learning experiences presented. Each month the children are introduced to thematic units, such as: Home & Family, Animals, and Community Helpers; along with Christian themes, such as Love, Kindness, and Sharing. Classes are child-centered with enough structure to create a safe environment. Classrooms are designed in play centers for the children’s enjoyment. Three-year-olds attend ECC two days per week, with the option of adding a third day. Pre-Kindergarten classes are scheduled three days per week, with the option of adding a fourth day.
We also offer a High Fives class for those children who have turned five but may not be ready to start Kindergarten for another year; this class meets four days per week.
